The ONEPWR Battery is a 20 Volt lithium ion battery pack that is a result of finding opportunity in a growing market as battery technology continues to rapidly progress and emerge at the forefront in numerous spaces. The business goal at the core of this program is to become a leader in cord-free technology within the home-cleaning realm, creating a network that affords an improved holistic cleaning experience for our end users.
PROJECT | Design a battery pack that visually and functionally fits into the home environment.
KEY ASPECTS | Versatility must be designed in as the battery must accept future cells still in development, and also interface with a number of products, some not yet in the pipeline.
ROLE | Support ID activities including Concept Development (through sketches, CAD, renderings, and CMF exploration), Prototyping, Usability Research, Graphics Development
the hero.
The ONEPWR Evolve is the flagship vacuum designed to drive the ONEPWR Battery into homes, setting the stage for the future of this network. The goal is that it will establish a positive presence with our users, driving the believability of cord-free power through exceptional cleaning performance along with an effortless user experience at a value. The ONEPWR Evolve will also exemplify the ONEPWR visual brand language, acting as a key reference for future products in the ONEPWR network.
PROJECT | Design a well performing vacuum that interfaces with the ONEPWR Battery
KEY ASPECTS | The right metrics must be defined to meet our users' needs. We must also achieve those metrics at a value to both the business and the end user.
ROLE | Lead ID activities from start to production including Support Defining Product Metrics (based consumer insights research data), Support Internal Component Layout Development, Concept Development (through sketches, CAD, and renderings), Prototyping, Usability Research, Support Engineering Activities for Production
the expansion.
In order to bring the idea of a ONEPWR network to fruition, a larger portfolio of products that accept the ONEPWR Battery is required. To achieve this, we have chosen to develop a variety of products that help build an ecosystem for the users, focused on cleaning in and around their homes. With speed-to-market and quantity in mind, we have been able to collaborate with our manufacturers and sister companies with expertise in battery operated products, and use their learnings to help achieve our goals.
PROJECT | Design a group of products to expand the ONEPWR network including two Hand Vacuums, two Wet/Dry Vacuums, two Blowers, and Multi-floor Cleaner
KEY ASPECTS | The battery must launch with supporting products, driving the majority of these products to be on the same quick timeline. Create synergies between sister companies to build on existing knowledge of similar products.
ROLE | Lead ID activities on one Hand Vacuum, two Wet/Dry Vacuums, and two Blowers from start to production including Support Internal Component Layout Development, Concept Development (through sketches, CAD, and renderings), Prototyping, Usability Research, Support Engineering Activities for Production. Heavily support ID activities on second Hand Vacuum and Multi-floor cleaner.
